Mum of three, Cindy, shares tips on the best Privilee spots to take the kids during Ramadan.

During Ramadan, schools have MUCH shorter hours, so that means lots more time to fill with the little ones! To keep them entertained and make sure they aren’t bored, we love to use this time to Privilee. It’s a win-win really, I can enjoy quality time with the kids in the sun by a pool (without paying extortionate day pass rates!), and they get to swim, play and burn off some energy!

We live in Dubai Marina and our kids go to a school about 10 minutes drive from home, within The Greens and The Lakes area. There are numerous other schools around here, as it is within a residential area. Hopefully this blog will be helpful for those of you who are looking for Privilee spots to go after school pick-up!

Address Montgomerie

Address Montgomerie is one of the closest Privilee venues to our school, and is within the Emirates Hills residential area. The Lakes, Springs, Meadows, as well as Jumeirah Islands, surround this area – where numerous other schools are located as well.

We love doing a quick 'drop-by' after school and taking the kids to the playground by Monty's and the main pool. Bring their scooters along as you can take them for a scoot around the Montgomerie golf course, all the way to Phileas Fogg's!

If it gets hot, everyone can go for a splash in their pool. The great thing about the pool here is that it shuts at 8pm, which is perfect for the warmer days. One of our favourite things to do is stay a bit later and then head for dinner or Iftar at one of the restaurants here.

Top tip: Privilee Members get 20% off the total bill for Members plus up to four guests at Monty's as well as Nineteen.

Zabeel House the Greens

Another Privilee hotel close to our school right in the middle of The Greens is Zabeel House. Their rooftop pool is suitable for the older kids, plus you can take a seat by Lah Lah and enjoy a tasty lunch or bite while the kids splash about!

If you live in The Greens, you can also bring dogs along to Social Company. Don’t fancy cooking? Just have a bite with the family here before walking home - they have a great menu, featuring classics such as Fish and Chips and Chicken and Mushroom Pie! The kids are also huge fans of the Double Chocolate Fudge Brownie.

Top tip: Privilee Members get 20% off the total bill for themselves and up to five guests at Social Company (located on the ground floor)  and Lah Lah, which is right by the main pool and perfect for after-school playdates.

Doubletree by Hilton JBR, Hilton Dubai Jumeriah and Sheraton Jumeriah Beach Resort

With the early pick-ups, it'll be a good time to pop over to JBR before the traffic starts in the later part of the day. It's a good time to take little ones to some of the lovely Privilee spots along The Beach on Jumeirah Beach Residence.

My kids love the swings at the shaded playground in Sheraton JBR. The ship playground has been moved closer to the main playground, which is very convenient - my kids spend ages there role-playing as pirates here!

There's also Doubletree by Hilton JBR, this venue has a shallow water area right by the main beach that they love splashing about in. Just remember to get them washed up by the beachside shower before heading back to the hotel!

Alternatively, pop over to the playground on the beach at Hilton JBR. Stay a little longer and it's time for happy hour at Wavebreakers.

Top tip: All of the above JBR venues offer complimentary valet for Privilee Members to make use of.

Hilton Dubai Palm Jumeirah

With Hilton Dubai Palm Jumeirah situated on Palm West Beach, it's one of the quicker Privilee venues to get to, once you drive onto The Palm itself.

Let the little ones play in the shaded playground outside the Pirates Kids’ Club, which is located right by the kids' pool - I love how everything is all within close proximity so you never feel too far from the kids. Again, it’s worth bringing their scooters or bikes and you can go onto Palm West Beach promenade after they’ve finished playing. Jones The Grocer is great for a casual afterschool bite with the kids - mine all love to run around on the beach before/during/after the meal and it’s great because I can still keep an eye on them!

See Cindy's article on 'Privilee at one of Palm Jumeirah's Best Family Friendly Destinations', here.

Top tip: Privilee Members get 20% off the total bill for themselves and up to five guests at all Hilton Dubai Palm Jumeirah dining outlets. Additionally, Hilton currently has a reasonable day pass rate that is redeemable on food and beverages, so it's a good spot for playdates with non-Privilee members.

Enjoy the short school days and long afternoons with the kids. Privilee makes it easy! Ramadan Kareem to all those celebrating.
