LilOneOfTheAshes shares her tips on spending a day at Privilee Resorts along The Beach, Jumeirah Beach Residence.
There are three resorts along the popular Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) stretch that are accessible with Privilee. Imagine having one day in JBR, and making the most out of your membership by Privilee’ing at all three!
Here are my tips on how to spend a day in JBR with Privilee:
Start with breakfast at Gastro Kitchen, DoubleTree by Hilton JBR
Drop your car off at the valet, and start your day with buffet breakfast at Gastro Kitchen in DoubleTree by Hilton. It’s good to head to JBR early so that you avoid the manic traffic that begins later on and you also get to start your day with a yummy breakfast- win win (breakfast is available from 7am).
For breakfast, you can choose to sit indoors or outdoors, if weather permits, there are lots of trees that keep the outdoor area shaded which is lovely during the cooler months of the year.
Top tip: Breakfast here is very reasonably priced as Privilee members get 30% off the total bill (this covers 1 Member + 5 guests).
Go for a late morning swim in DoubleTree Hilton
DoubleTree's pool is shaded in the morning as the sun is blocked behind the hotel building, as well as neighbouring hotels. This is great for the kids, particularly in the summer months when I’m constantly trying to cover them in sunscreen! There is also a large lawn area that is usually shaded in the mornings, if they want to run around.
Top tip: If you have toddlers, DoubleTree has a shaded toddler pool next to the huge main pool.
Let them run wild at Sheraton JBR
Dry up a little, take the scooters and head to the JBR boardwalk, right in front of DoubleTree, you can walk from here to Sheraton JBR as it’s located just next door. They have a few playgrounds here that the kids will love - mine are big fans of the shaded ship playground on the sand. If the little ones prefer slides, see-saw and swings, they can head towards the other playground closer to the hotel building and pool.
As the second playground is located by the pool, anytime anyone starts to feel a little warm - jump in! Plus, if you are feeling a little peckish, you can order and dine poolside.
Top tip: Privilee members get 40% off the total bill when ordering from Azure Pool Bar, for 1 Member + 8 guests. The day pass rate for Sheraton is reasonable as well (AED 99 on weekdays and AED 149 on weekends), so if you want to invite friends that aren’t Privilee Members, they can pay for a day pass and join you for a playdate.
Stroll to Hilton JBR
After all of the fun at Sheraton, pop over to Hilton JBR, just 5-10 minutes walk away, for an early dinner at Wavebreakers. If you can, grab a couple of drinks and stay for sunset, it's lovely watching from here - with views of Ain Dubai!
Make sure to pick a seat on the edge of the terrace at Wavebreaker so you can watch the kids playing on the shaded playground on the beach. We love rounding off our day with a dip in the sea before we head home - ready for an early night!
