Dubai resident and mum of three, Cindy, from LilOneOfTheAshes shares her insights on how to spend a day using your Privilee membership at Kempinski Hotel and Residences Palm Jumeirah.
Thanks to our Privilee membership, we have been to Kempinski a lot over the years. It's an exquisite property, somewhere you would go if you want some peace and quiet, and to escape from the hustle and bustle that you find in a lot of the other properties on Palm Jumeirah. It’s such a beautiful property.
Here are some tips on how to make the most of your day at Kempinski Hotel and Residences Palm Jumeirah with the family.
Breakfast at Brunello
Brunello is located on the ground floor level at the Kempinski and serves breakfast from 7am. You can dine indoors, or otherwise on their outdoor terrace by the pool and gardens during the winter months - which is just stunning and really makes you appreciate living in such a place.
Top tip: Privilee Members get 20% off on their total bill at Brunello, including the buffet breakfast, which is what we enjoyed before starting our day by the pool. Children ages 5 - 11 get 50% off and those under age five dine for free.
If you have friends and family who do not have a Privilee membership and would like to join you for a breakfast then stay for a pool and beach day, Brunello has a really good breakfast and daycation offer - check this with them directly as prices change seasonally.
Family time at the pool and beach
We headed to the main pool after breakfast which is just a short stroll from Brunello. When the kids were younger, we spent a lot of time by the shaded kids’ pool as it's shallow enough for toddlers to play safely in there. Now our kids are a bit bigger, they love the waterjets at the side of the main pool which is adjacent to the kids’ pool - make sure to join them for some fun!
The beach by Kempinski is lovely and quiet, looking out onto the Dubai Marina and JBR skyline - make sure to get some snaps for Instagram. If the kids want to have a run-around, there is a shaded playground close to the kids’ pool, right by a large lawn for them to play freely. The gardens at Kempinski are so beautiful and very well taken care of - another good spot for family photos too.
Top tip: If you get hungry, order from the Pool & Beach menu which comes from Villamore. Privilee Members get a 20% discount, which is fabulous!
Dining at Villamore
If you would prefer to go and dine at a restaurant rather than by the pool, take the family to Villamore.
Villamore is very much family-friendly. We love picking a spot on their outdoor terrace during the winter months and letting the kids play on the swings on the sand. They love it too! There are also hammocks and the entire beach for them to run around on, so it is very easy to keep little ones entertained as you eat.
Villamore has a kids' menu, ours love their penne pasta with mushroom and cream, and of course - a kids' favourite: spaghetti bolognese! Don't worry, if yours only eats french fries (like one of mine!) - they have those too.
Top Tip: If you pop to Villamore for dinner with the kids in the late afternoon, Villamore has a 'golden hour' menu with discounted sundowners between 4-7pm. A perfect way to end the day with drinks for mummy and daddy, and 20% off the a la carte menu for food with your Privilee membership.
Titan Tikes Kids’ Club
Just in case you wanted to have some quiet time with your other half by the pool and beach - you can always drop off the older ones in Kempinski's kids' club, called Titan Tikes Kids’ Club. Titan Tikes is situated on the 2nd floor of Kempinski - you will need to inform reception that you are going there as they need to use an access card to activate the lifts taking you there.
Top tip: There are no bathrooms in Titan Tikes, or on the 2nd floor of Kempinski where the kids’ club is situated, so make sure you take the kids to the bathrooms before dropping them off. Kids aged five and above can be left at Titan Tikes, however, kids under five need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
