JA The Resort, commonly known as Jebel Ali Beach Resort, has long been one of those destinations that feel as if you’ve left Dubai and arrived at a tropical island resort.
When I heard it had joined the array of Privilee venues, I was so pleased. While it might seem like a drive for some, it’s actually only 25 minutes from us on The Palm and really feels like a million miles away! Lush greenery, and extensive amenities make it the perfect “daycation.”
It’s also worth noting that access to the pool has recently changed with the reopening of the main hotel. Check-in is now in the main JA Beach Hotel lobby; members can now simply park outside in the central car park and walk straight into the lobby and out to the pool once checked in. It couldn’t be simpler and is a much shorter walk than a few weeks ago!
Which pool to choose?
With a large swimming pool plus a shallow shaded kids’ pool area at the Beach Hotel and a further two family pools in the adjacent Palm Tree Court accessible to Privilee members, the most challenging decision you’ll have to make all day is which pool you’d like to base yourself at!
Our favourite is the infinity pool located on the beach in front of Palm Tree Court. It has a lovely ledge all the way around the pool which is perfect for lounging around on to stay cool and also for the little ones who aren’t super confident in the pool as yet. It also has a beautiful fountain over on one side of the pool that is excellent for keeping the little ones entertained or for a beautiful Instagram worthy photo!
What’s for lunch?
Captain’s, the outdoor beachfront restaurant serves a delicious casual menu of pastas and pizzas, perfect for some lunch out of the sun. We were lucky, even in mid-August to enjoy sitting outside as there was a beautiful ocean breeze. We all tucked into a scrummy lunch before enjoying part two of our day.
A perfect leisurely afternoon!
From splashing away in the pool to spotting Peacocks, we had a great afternoon and the kids couldn’t stop smiling. We met up with friends who were staying at the hotel too, which meant I could have a catch-up and catch some rays in the pool while the kids played!
Why not stay for dinner!
We were enjoying our day so much, we decided to stick around for dinner as well. We were so glad that we did as it was our first visit to the White Orchid restaurant and the food was delicious! Did I mention that members get 20% off all restaurants and bars?
In summary, I highly recommend visiting JA if you’re after chilled-out family fun!
