After just an hour and a half drive from Dubai, we pulled up to the grandeur of the Waldorf Astoria Ras al Khaimah. The property was absolutely magnificent to look at, with the essence of an Arabian palace.
The look and feel
If you’ve been to the Waldorf Astoria on the Palm Jumeirah in Dubai, this beachfront property in RAK has the same elegance and sophistication, however, the stretch of beach here is significantly bigger and more impressive as it’s right on the coastline. The property is also more than twice the size - it really is enormous and super spacious, which we loved! Plenty of space to run around and explore.
The grounds of the resort are truly five-star, with a huge central family pool, a treehouse slide on the beach in between the palm trees which the kids were obsessed with, and even a separate adult pool surrounded by cabanas, a bar and hammocks on the beach. Oh and a strategically placed Insta-swing to get snap-happy!
A luxurious daycay
We made full use of the huge family pool, but the beach was where we spent most of our time as it’s incredibly spacious and just fabulous for the kids to run around. One of my favourite features was all the hundreds of palm trees on the beach too.
We also had a nose in the delightful kids' club which had such a warm and attentive team. There are lots of activities and kids over four can be dropped off, whilst kids under four must be supervised by a parent.
A tasty way to end the day
For a late lunch, we decided to sit outside and had delicious pizzas by the beach in the shade. Highly recommend the truffle pizza and the sea-bass at Azure.
If you’re in the mood for a relaxing pamper treatment, the spa at Waldorf RAK offers couples massages outside in private cabanas. Also highly recommended!
No wonder this place has been granted 100 awards and accolades since it opened in 2013. We are so pleased that Privilee Members can now enjoy its five-star facilities! The resort it so worth the drive out of town!
