Setting the stage: A vibrant location
August Restaurant & Lounge is located on the 12th floor of The Address Fountain Views in Downtown Dubai. From the moment I stepped into the restaurant I was engulfed in an atmosphere that exuded energy, excitement, and an air of anticipation. August is not just for dining; it's a realm of fun vibes, where the fusion of French Mediterranean cuisine and a lively party spirit come together. As I gazed around, I couldn't help but be drawn to the cool artwork that adorned the walls, adding a touch of contemporary chic to the surroundings. August is home to some of Ayyam Gallery’s Art, with an edition by Oussama Diab, so you can look forward to admiring this when you visit!
Sip in style
To kickstart my night, I opted for a signature cocktail called ‘Hidden Pearl Fresca’, which mirrored the restaurant's dynamic personality. It was a blend of apple and pear juice with a splash of soda - super fresh, light and sweet! August is known for its award-winning mixologists, and this was evident in every sip of all of our perfectly crafted drinks throughout the evening.
A flawless fusion of French Mediterranean cuisine
As we delved into the menu, we found an array of tempting options. From fresh seafood and indulgent cheese boards to succulent steaks and hearty pasta dishes, this meal was going to be a treat!
We were a group of five and decided to order a variety of dishes to share, so we could all try a range of the menus’ delectable-looking food - it all looked too good to miss! To begin, we ordered the Watermelon and Feta Salad, Truffle Puff Bread, Baked Camembert, Chicken Souvlaki, Tuna Tartare and Prawn and Avocado Frites. Just a few things to get us started…
The baked camembert was undoubtedly my favourite, one bite and I was transported to a realm of cheesy indulgence that was perfectly complemented by warm bread. It was packed with flavour and a great option if you’re sharing.
For our mains, we ordered the Lobster Tagliatelle and Short Ribs from the sharing menu, alongside Prawn Saganaki and some sides; Frites and Cheese (truffle fries) and Baby Potatoes. This amount of food was perfect for five people. For me, the Lobster Tagliatelle took centre stage! The freshly made tagliatelle and a generous amount of succulent lobster served in a creamy rich sauce was a triumph of textures and taste. It felt like a dish that you’d eat at a gorgeous Mediterranean beach club, and brought back all the memories from my most recent trip to Mykonos!
Alongside the Lobster Tagliatelle, all of the main courses were mouthwatering - compliments to the chef! My friend raved about the truffle fries, the perfect balance of truffle and melted cheese on crispy potato. We actually ended up ordering another portion to share amongst us!
Sweet cravings!
To end the meal we fancied something sweet and asked the waiter for their recommendations, which they were happy to provide. Three of us have a big sweet tooth, so he suggested two to share; the August Chocolate Dream and Caramel Fondant. I loved both so much I almost wish we hadn’t been sharing! The Chocolate Ball was served with a scoop of velvety vanilla ice cream and a miniature jug of sauce to pour over the decadent chocolate dessert. Drizzle the sauce and watch it melt in front of you before tucking in!
The ultimate Saturday night spot

As we had finished our meal, we moved from The Dining Room to ‘Dusk’ - described as the ‘go-to weekend party space’! Dusk is the lounge area of August and is definitely the place to be later in the evening, with loud music, great DJs and a speciality gin bar. The atmosphere here is upbeat and vibrant - with live entertainment and laser shows! We stayed here for the rest of the night and had the best time, the DJ was playing a mix of fun 80s and early 2000s music, so as you can imagine, the mood was high!
