Enjoy a traditional British Sunday Roast with all the trimmings at The Coterie Social & Kitchen!

Nestled above IBN Battuta Mall and overlooking the green of Precision Football’s FIFA-standard pitches, The Coterie Social & Kitchen is the talk of the town for its famous (and mouthwatering!) Roast Dinner.

Privilee Members, Ellie and Sam, wanted to experience what all of the hype was about for themselves and put their 15% discount on food and drinks to good use! Here is what they had to say about The Coterie's incredible roast.

Finding the location

You will find The Coterie Social & Kitchen in IBN Battuta Mall, to access the restaurant you need to park in the P6 car park, it’s well signposted for both Precision Football and The Coterie, so it’s very easy to find. When you’ve parked, take the lift to the first floor (the lifts are navy and yellow with a sign for the restaurant - so again, it’s pretty clear!). Go to the first floor, and you’ve arrived!

Side note - if you’re accessing the restaurant from the mall, the closest entrance is next to the cinema.

Friendly and buzzing atmosphere

The Coterie Social & Kitchen is split into two areas. Coterie Kitchen, which is a large open space, brightly lit and great for families. Coterie Social has more of a pub vibe and is for adults aged 21+. It’s excellent if you want to watch sports, with a huge 360 bar in the middle and 19 screens that showcase the latest sports.

We chose to dine in Coterie Social and were pleasantly surprised at how lively the atmosphere was for a Sunday afternoon. You can hear a buzz of chatting, laughing and of course the smell of mouthwatering food as soon as you step in. I have to give a special shout-out to the live singer - he was fab! The live music really kept the atmosphere going, it was such a nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Although, it’s worth highlighting that The Coterie’s Sunday Roast is available on both Saturday and Sunday!

To start…

I was so excited to try the food here as I have heard SO many good reviews from friends and seen it all over Instagram - what to pick was going to be difficult, especially when I saw the menu! There are lots of British classics to choose from that have a slight twist, for example, Cheddar & Jalapeño Croquettes and Chicken Coronation Skewers. Yum!

We decided to share a few (we were hungry!), and ordered the Coterie Scotch Egg, Steak Tartare, and Goat’s Cheese Tart. All three starters were honestly delicious, in particular the Goat’s Cheese Tart which featured warm gooey cheese inside a crispy pastry. It reminded me of being home!

The main event

We picked the sharing option of the roast; ‘The Roast With The Most’, which comes with a choice of two meats, opting for the lamb and beef - both of which were incredible. The lamb was super succulent and the beef was tender, melt-in-your-mouth kind of stuff! The Roast With The Most also comes with golden roast potatoes, a selection of veg, onion and sage stuffing, creamy cauliflower and leek cheese, and of course, (the main character), a flavoursome rich gravy. In addition to all of this, we added two Yorkshire puddings, it was Sunday after all. The Yorkshire’s were delicious, think a crispy, fluffy outside and a soft middle that’s perfect for soaking up gravy!

Just as expected, the roast was 10/10. From portion sizes to taste - everything was spot on - I now totally understand why The Coterie is known for being one of the best roasts in Dubai, it certainly lived up to my expectations.

End on a sweet note

Despite the large amounts of food consumed, skipping dessert was not an option! You HAVE to get one when you visit. From classics such as Eton Mess and Sticky Toffee Pudding to indulgent options like Battered Mars Bar and Malteser Cheesecake - it’s heaven for anyone with a sweet tooth!

We shared, again, and went for two proper traditional British puddings; Sticky Toffee Pudding (my all-time favourite) and the Bramley Apple and Blackberry Crumble. The sticky toffee oozed rich caramel goodness with every bite, it was so good, I can’t wait to go back for it again. Likewise, the crumble was just as tasty, and the refreshing taste of the fruit was nice after such rich food beforehand. This was paired with thick, creamy custard - the flavours and textures combined were perfect - and once again reminded me of Sunday afternoons at home.

Don’t miss out!
