Maximise your Privilee membership at this five-star resort.

Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah is a pristine hotel at the east end of The Palm Crescent. The renowned five-star resort has something for everyone; an adults-only pool, a family pool, kid-friendly restaurants, brunches and a kids’ club.

Mum of three, Cindy, from LilOneOfTheAshes gives her top recommendations on how to make the most of your day and your Privilee Membership at this beautiful property on The Palm.

Start with breakfast at Mezzerie

One of the best parts of breakfast at a hotel is that they often start early in the morning, and that's when younger children are awake! Waldorf's buffet breakfast is held in Mezzerie, located on the ground floor which is the same level as the pool and beach - convenient (when you are with three little ones!).

Bring the family for breakfast from 6:30am, however, breakfast is served until 10.30am if you would rather arrive later. Mezzerie has an incredible range of breakfast options - it’s hard to know where to start! Think waffles, pancakes, donuts, eggs, fruits, a cheese selection, lots of vegetarian options, and there is also pork available.

Top tip: Mezzerie typically doesn't take reservations for breakfast. Give them a call in the morning to see if they are accepting walk-in guests.

Playtime at Coco Kid's Club

Coco Kid's Club is right next to Mezzerie, which is super handy for families. Coco’s opens at 9am, so if the kids have finished breakfast by then and you would like to have a proper conversation and a hot cup of coffee with your other half, you can easily drop the kids off next door!

There are different sections within Coco Kid's Club, including a ball pit and a movie room with beanbags! There is also an air hockey table and kitchen sets for the kids to play with.

The team at Coco’s is amazing, they get the kids involved in arts and crafts sessions, dance challenges and musical games - it’s very interactive and fun for them. Our kids love spending time here.

Top tip: Kids aged 4 - 12 can access Coco Kids’ Club, but you can stay with younger kids if you would like to. With Privilee, you get two hours of complimentary access per child, and then it is chargeable (AED 55 per hour, per child).

Parent time!

Here are a few suggestions on what to do while the kids play in Coco’s Kids’ Club.

Option 1: Adults-only pool

There is an adults-only pool close to Coco Kid's Club. Take some time to sunbathe in peace, get a cocktail or read a book. You can also pop into the shaded jacuzzi for some chill-out time with your other half.

Option 2: Lunch at Palm Avenue

Alternatively, if you are hungry, go to Palm Avenue for a relaxed lunch - it’s a gorgeous setting on the poolside of the main pool at Waldorf Astoria Palm Jumeirah. The menu is lovely, we usually order the Steak Tacos, Burrata and Truffle Pizzetta to share.

Option 3: Afternoon Tea at Peacock Alley

Peacock Alley serves Afternoon Tea from 1pm-4pm every day. We have done this a few times - drop the older ones in the Kid's Club and sneak upstairs for a nice afternoon tea treat.

Peacock Alley is such a beautiful space, and they have a pianist at the later part of the afternoon as well just to add to the overall ambience.

Top tip: Privilee members get 20% off their total bill at Palm Avenue and Peacock Alley.

Family time at the pool and beach

When it's time to pick up the kids from Coco Kid's Club, you can get the kids changed in the bathrooms in Coco before heading to the main pool.

There are shallow steps on the side for the younger ones, and if you want a bit of shade, head to the small, shaded kid's pool which is just behind the main pool.

At the edge of the beach, there is a lovely pier. If you and the kids are brave enough to dive off from here - go ahead and do it! This is a great spot to take pics!

Top tip: The great thing about Waldorf is that their outdoor showers and bathrooms are right next to the kid's pool. It’s super convenient when you are ready to leave and want to change the kids before you go.

Dinner at Mezzerie

We have had so many dinners in Mezzerie with the kids after a Privilee day at Waldorf Astoria Palm Jumeirah. They have a different cuisine theme every night, so double-check with Mezzerie what it is before you go. We love their Asian night!

The great thing is that Mezzerie is open for dinner early - 6:30pm - so you can get the kids fed and head home in time for bedtime. A highlight here for the kids is having an ice cream cone after dinner - they love it, every single time!

Top tip: There are only a few semi-circular booths in Mezzerie. Go early so you can get one of those - it's really handy when you have multiple kids (to keep them contained!).

Brunch!

If you’re looking for an alternative to breakfast and dinner, try Mezzerie’s brunch!

Mezzerie’s Surf and Turf Brunch is back for the winter season and it is well worth a visit. The menu features charcoal grilled tomahawks, Australian black Angus steaks, freshly cured salmon, an assortment of sushi and more. To keep kids occupied, there’s a bouncy castle outdoors and of course, the pool is slightly further in front, which is great for the older kids who can jump in and out.

Top tip: Surf and Turf brunch runs every Saturday from 1pm-4pm.

Children aged 9 and below dine for free which is amazing, and Privilee also has a 30% discount for the children’s package aged 10-14.

I hope this gives you an idea of how to maximise your day at the Waldorf Astoria Palm Jumeirah with Privilee!
